We are looking for talented and highly skilled Senior Payment Officer to join our Payments team

Our upcoming projects require a very skilled and experienced Payment Officer, deeply involved in implementing various payments schema (instant, QR code mobile payments) and additional services such as SANB and  VoP, as well as Open Banking and Mobile Banking solutions.

What You’ll do:

• Manage and oversee domestic and international payment operations, ensuring compliance with EU and NBR regulations, national payment system rules and internal policies.

• Support and optimize clearing and settlement processes for local and foreign currency payments.

• Contribute to the implementation and development of payment solutions and projects, including Instant Payments, QR code payments, Open Banking and Mobile Banking.

• Translate business and operational needs into business requirements, functional specifications and process improvements.

• Prepare test scenarios and actively participate in testing, UAT and implementation activities for payment-related projects.

• Support the implementation and continuous development of PSD2/Open Banking solutions, APIs, payment initiation and account information services.

• Collaborate on the implementation and integration of Mobile Banking and Digital Channels with core banking and payment systems.

• Manage and monitor payment flows through Romanian payment and settlement infrastructures, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

• Work with SWIFT payment messages and ISO 20022 standards, supporting the implementation and optimization of related payment flow

• Support payment schemes and initiatives such as SEPA, Instant Payments and Verification of Payee (VoP).

• Identify operational gaps, risks and improvement opportunities and propose solutions to increase efficiency, automation and quality across payment processes.

• Work closely with IT, Operations, Treasury, Compliance, Risk and other stakeholders to successfully deliver payment-related initiatives.

• Stay up to date with regulatory and market developments in the payments area and support their implementation within the Bank.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Extensive knowledge on regulations for domestic & foreign payments –EU and NBR regulations in place, national payment systems rules, ARB payment schemas, operational and compliance rules

• Good practice on operations for domestic and foreign currency payments, expertise on operations and processes related to payments – clearing and settlement processes

• Expertise in implementation of projects within payment area (domestic, instant, QRcode mobile payments, OpenBanking, Mobile Banking)

• Exposed to preparing business requirements, test scenarios, testing, UAT activities and project management

• Good understanding of PSD2/OpenBanking requirements, APIs and payment initiation/account information services

• Experience or exposure to mobile Banking and Digital Channels implementation, including integration with core banking systems

• Self-driven, independent and proficient user, able to conduct efficient and logical operational activities

• Pro-active, team player, constant learning and development

• Projects oriented, open to changes and focused on delivering quality and efficiency rather than daily routines

• Experience working with Romanian payment systems and settlement infrastructures. 

• Knowledge of SWIFT payment messages and ISO 20022 standards.

• Experience with SEPA, Instant Payments, VoP and other payment-related schemes.

  Nice to have:

  • SENT and/or ReGIS certification

  •  English will be a plus
